Air Amwaj

Air Amwaj, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has in just ten years established itself as one of the world’s leading airlines. “Amwaj” is the Arabic word for “wave”.

Set up in Airline Empires (AE) in 1990, Air Amwaj commenced commercial operations in November 1990, and has gone on to become the fastest growing airline in the history of commercial aviation.

It is currently the largest Middle eastern carrier with over 240 destinations in 6 continents.

Air Amwaj offers three classes of service including First, Business and Economy aswell as its world renowned In flight Entertainment System E-BOX available on all aircraft.

In late 2007 Air Amwaj started a major partnership and codeshare deal with Qahat Airways, one of the largest, and highest ranked airlines in O1. Qahat Airways is based out of Shenzhen, China.

Air Amwaj's Frequent Flyer program Flywards is linked to Envoy Alliance aswell as Qahat Airways's frequent flyer program Royal, for a more streamlined experience. 

In May 2014 Air Amwaj left the Star Alliance to join the new elite alliance "Envoy". Envoy Alliance was created by our major partner Qahat Airways. The Envoy Alliance will connect Air Amwaj customers with 1,122 unique destinations from 532 hubs served by 14 airlines.
